Forty-Nine People Injured in Uganda Protests

At least 49 people were injured yesterday, including Kizza Besigye, the leader of the opposition Forum for Democratic Change, who was shot in the hand, as Uganda police and military blocked processions against rising inflation, New Vision reported, citing Uganda Red Cross.

The people were injured during clashes with the police and military who blocked the “walk-to-work” protests, the Kampala- based newspaper reported.
